Origin:


The program was established on 11/7/1431 AH (corresponding to 2010 CE) following approval by the esteemed University Council (No. 408/1430/1431 AH), becoming the second graduate program after the Master's program in the Department of Systems. The program was further developed as part of the project to upgrade study units in the updated version during the first semester of the academic year 1444 AH (2022 CE).


Message:


Providing knowledge and sciences related to the specialization of public and private law, and preparing highly qualified personnel with the ability to communicate, conduct outstanding scientific research, and develop themselves to meet the needs of the local and global labor market.


Objectives:


 • Preparing scientific and professional competencies specialized in the fields and disciplines of private law, and qualifying them to a high standard in the field of Saudi systems and comparative systems.


 • Meeting the needs of specialized scientific departments for employees in the field of law, in general and public or private law in particular.


 • Qualifying specialists in preparing regulations related to public or private law in a manner that aligns with the needs of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and keeps pace with the scale of development in light of the commitment to Islamic Sharia.


 • Qualifying specialists in public and private law who are capable of participating in the Saudi judicial system, including general and administrative courts, public courts, institutional arbitration, and international commercial arbitration.


 • Developing qualified scientific talents to support the local and global community.


 • To meet the needs of the local and global labor market, and to provide outstanding scientific knowledge that keeps pace with national and international regulations.


 • Developing the ability to compare and apply legislation and regulations to students to the extent that they can deal with any local or international legal system.

  3. Qualifying specialists in preparing systems related to public or private law in a way that benefits the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and serves Islam and Muslims and does not conflict with Islamic law.
  4. To meet the labor market’s need for qualified specialists in public or private law who are able to participate in the Saudi judicial system, including general and administrative judiciary, public prosecution, quasi-judicial committees, arbitration, mediation, advocacy, and legal consultations.
  5. Increasing scientific and research partnerships to serve the local and global community.
  6. Preparing specialists capable of preparing specialized scientific research in systems and public or private law.
  7. Developing and nurturing students' ability to compare legislation and regulations to the extent that enables them to deal with any system or law, and evaluate it according to Sharia.

Admission Requirements

  1. Passing the standardized test provided by the department, college, or graduate studies is required.
  2. The student must have a bachelor's degree in Sharia, Law, or equivalent.
  3. The department will determine the conditions later, and these will be announced in due course.
  4. In addition to the conditions stipulated in the unified regulations for postgraduate studies in universities and its executive rules at the Islamic University.
