The mission of the Mathematics study program is realized through:
1. Training specialists with advanced mathematical skills, having a multidisciplinary training base, who can continue their studies through a master's degree and can work in different systems (education, banks, insurance companies, statistical departments, public opinion polling institutes, IT companies, etc.).
2. Training teachers necessary for mathematics education in Romania, at a level compatible with that of the EU.
3. Creating, capitalizing on, and disseminating knowledge obtained through scientific research in the field of pure and applied mathematics. To achieve this mission, the study program has the following objectives:
1. Training students of the Mathematics study program in solid professional and transversal skills, following the requirements of the labor market.
2. Achieving high-performance standards in the specialized training of students, following the tradition of Romanian mathematics education.
3. Developing in students an active attitude toward their own continuing professional training, in the spirit of professional responsibility. Developed transversal skills: curiosity; scientific rigor; rapid
analysis of information; information synthesis; adaptability; teamwork;
organizing and managing priorities; improving relationships, and
written and oral communication.
