The  Machine Building Technology programme, or TCM for short, is the oldest specialization within the Faculty of Engineering. Machine Building Technology is a bachelor specialization in Industrial Engineering, with a tradition of over 60 years in Romanian higher education. The technologist engineer, as the TCM graduate is commonly called, deals with manufacture of industrial products. The skills acquired during bachelor studies (computer programming and operation, design of mechanical parts and assemblies, design of manufacturing technologies and equipment for mechanical products, product and manufacturing process quality management, manufacturing process research), enable him to access jobs in a wide range of industrial enterprises (e.g. automotive, industrial goods, industrial installations, etc.), research institutes or education (pre-university or university). The bachelor program Machine Building Technology trains specialists in constructive and technological design, management of technological processes, operation and maintenance of machinery and equipment specific to the machine-building industry, essentially aimed at preparing for manufacturing. The general technical training, supplemented by subjects ensuring the successful use of computer-aided design and computer aided machining, is completed by a package of economic subjects absolutely necessary for the formation of a broad view of the fields of research, production and marketing of industrial products.
