The Master's program “Physical Therapy in Functional Education and Re-education” (PTFER)” is a 2-year (4 semesters) professional degree offered by the Department of Physiotherapy and Occupational Therapy within the Faculty of Movement, Sports and Health Sciences at Vasile Alecsandri University of Bacău.

Level: Cycle II – Master's Degree Studies (According to the Bologna system structure: Bachelor's → Master's → Doctorate)
Type: Professional Master's Program. It is less a research-oriented master's, but rather a practical, applied program focused on developing professional skills in the field of rehabilitation and functional reeducation). The program create opportunities for professional development including steps in self-directed, lifelong learning in which all active physiotherapists engage to maintain and develop continued competence. Steps include needs assessment, followed by participation in learning activity, reflection, application, practice, and documentation.
Program Objectives This program aims to deepen knowledge and develop advanced competencies in the field of physiotherapy, training specialists who will able to:
- evaluate and diagnose motor dysfunctions;
- design and implement personalized programs for functional education and reeducation;
- apply modern neurologic and physical recovery methods in clinical and educational settings;
- integrate scientific research into professional practice.
The curriculum includes courses such as:
- Research Methodology in physiotherapy
- Lymphatic drainage
- Advanced Functional Assessment Techniques
- Intervention Strategies in Neuromotor Reeducation
- Applied proprio neuroceptiv facilitation (PNF) in neurological, ortopaedical, oncological or other pathological conditions
- Designing and Managing Recovery Programs
The program also includes practical internships and the completion of a master’s thesis.
