The fundamental mission of the master's degree program consists of the formation of cognitive, professional (instrumental), and affective-value skills following national

and international standards.

Objectives of the study program:

1.   deepening the knowledge acquired through completing the undergraduate university study program;

2. developing the capacity for an interdisciplinary approach to specialized topics;

3. developing skills for solving complex problems in the field of biology and environmental protection;

4. developing the skills necessary to use modern methods and techniques specific to the field of environmental protection;

5. ensuring the acquisition of the skills necessary for collecting, analyzing, and interpreting data in the field of Biology, specific to the principles of protection and valorization of biological resources.

Transmitted knowledge:

1.       in-depth notions and concepts, principles and methodologies characteristic of the specialization;

2.       explaining the characteristics of biological systems from the perspective of the principles of valorization and protection of biological resources;

3.       characterizing biological systems to carry out structural-functional and evolutionary diagnoses;

4.       interpreting and critically evaluating specialized scientific information from the perspective of the principles of protection and valorization of biological resources;

5.       explaining and critically evaluating the influence of various factors on the structure and functions of living organisms;

6.       using qualitative and quantitative methods and modern investigation techniques at different levels of organization of biological systems to solve theoretical and practical problems specific to the specialization;

7.       inter/transdisciplinary integration of knowledge for processing the data obtained and developing specific projects.

Professional skills: 1.       analyzes environmental protection data; 2.       implements environmental protection measures; 3.       researches flora; 4.       researches fauna; 5.       conducts scientific research; 6.       provides advice on nature conservation; 7.       monitors nature conservation; 8.       thinks abstractly

Transversal skills: 1.       assuming responsibility and carrying out work tasks, respecting the principles of professional ethics; 2.       integrating into interdisciplinary work teams; 3. developing critical-constructive reflection capacities on one's level of professional training, concerning the standards of the profession.
