Biotechnology is the use of technology and living cells to obtain a product with a purpose. A very useful discipline in Pharmacy, since it is used to produce drugs (such as insulin or antibiotics), to develop clinical diagnostic methods (such as PCR or antigen tests for COVID) and even to make contributions in the fight against cancer and rare diseases.
The Dual Bachelor’s degree in Pharmacy and Biotechnology at Universidad CEU San Pablo complements the professional activity of the pharmacist with the development of activities oriented to research, development and control of new drugs, health and food products and methods of diagnosis and molecular therapy.
Such a Dual Bachelor’s degree should only be studied with excellent faculty and in first class facilities, such as our more than 60 laboratories equipped with modern equipment (including the Centre of Metabolomics and Bioanalysis for research at the highest level in the metabolomic field).
In addition, we have agreements for internships in the best pharmaceutical laboratories and numerous companies in the sector, as well as an internationalization program so that you can work anywhere in the world. Do you want to start your career in the pharmaceutical and biotechnological field? You will get the Bachelor’s degree in Pharmacy from the fifth year and from the sixth year onwards the Biotechnology degree. Come on!

Admission Requirements
STUDENTS WHO COME FROM INTERNATIONAL BACCALAUREATE (IB)
- If you are studying it, you must request a certificate from your educational center with the predictive grade (for the admission processes of the Degree in Medicine and the Degree in Dentistry, the grade must be adapted to the Spanish educational system).
- If you have completed the IB, you will have to apply for the credential issued by the National Distance Education University (UNED) for access to university in Spain.
- Language Requirements for CEU San Pablo University Candidates
Baccalaureate students from countries of the European Union or from states with which Spain has signed applicable international agreements on educational matters, on a reciprocal basis, provided that said students meet the academic requirements demanded in their educational systems to access university.
- If you are studying it, you must request a certificate of qualifications from your educational center (for the admission processes of the Degree in Medicine and the Degree in Dentistry, the grade must be adapted to the Spanish educational system).
- If you have completed the Baccalaureate and have access to the university in the educational system you attended, you will have to request the credential issued by the UNED for access to the university in Spain. If you have completed the Baccalaureate, but have not passed the entrance to the university in the educational system studied, you will have to request the Spanish Ministry of Education the homologation to the Spanish Baccalaureate degree.
Baccalaureate student from countries that are not members of the European Union, or from countries with which Spain does not have an agreement on education.
- If you are studying it, you must request a certificate of qualifications from your educational center (for the admission processes of the Degree in Medicine and the Degree in Dentistry, the mark must be adapted to the Spanish educational system).
- If you have completed the Baccalaureate, you will have to apply to the Spanish Ministry of Education for recognition of the Spanish Baccalaureate degree.
