This course offers students a detailed understanding of the evolution of diplomacy and the way in which diplomacy is practised in the contemporary world. It tackles several broader issues that impact on diplomatic processes, such as the way in which states operate in regional organisations such as the European Union, the threat of organised crime and terrorism and the role of multinational corporations and companies. Teaching will be delivered through formal lectures, informal seminars, tutorials, workshops, discussions and e-learning packages.
