The total number of credits required to receive the Master of Landscape Architecture and Master of Community and Regional Planning is 89 or 91. Degree requirements include 55 credit hours of MLA courses, 21 credit hours of MCRP courses, 9 summer credit hours of interdisciplinary Master of Urban Design (MUD) courses, and either a 4 credit hour professional report/creative component or a 6 credit hour thesis. The specific course requirements for both degrees are identified below. This is a seven semester (3 years and 1 summer) program. Summer semester can be taken following the first or the second year. Satisfactory completion of the program includes the acceptance and oral defense of a thesis or professional report. For double degrees, this final project (i.e. professional report/project or thesis) must integrate subject areas from both fields and the POS committee must contain faculty from both departments. Specifically, the POS will include co-major professors, each of whom represents one of the co-majors.
