The Literacy Program at Iowa State offers pre-service to doctoral-level studies in literacy that include coursework for reading endorsements and certifications, an Online Literacy Coaching Certificate Program, and tutoring programs that double as practicum settings. Nationally recognized faculty in our program draw from multiple content disciplines, theoretical perspectives, and research traditions to help you prepare for your responsibilities as a leader in literacy. Students in our master?s programs will engage in research to support their development as future scholars, teachers, and teacher educators. Students? research can be related to any aspect of literacy and will be developed with their major professor and advising committee members. Students in our online Literacy Coaching Certificate will be prepared to serve in literacy leadership roles with the goal of improving teacher practices and student achievement in diverse Pre K-12 school settings.
