As a School of Education in a leading science and technology research university, we take particular pride in our expertise in STEM fields. Iowa State University has long been a center of excellence in Instructional Technology, Mathematics Education, and Science Education. Our Center for Teaching, Learning and Technology (CTLT) is internationally recognized as a premier space for research and innovation. Our master’s programs, including pre-service teacher preparation programs in Science Education and Mathematics Education and an online master’s in Instructional Technology, have also received awards, both nationally and in Iowa. Our Ph.D. alumni in all three areas of emphasis hold tenure-line faculty positions at a range of leading research universities, liberal arts colleges, and regional public universities, such as University of Missouri-Columbia, University of Washington-Seattle, Middle East Technical University (Turkey), Drake University, Ball State University, Towson University, University of Wisconsin-Green Bay, and Wichita State University.
