Do you work with children and/or young people who have special educational needs and disabilities, or additional needs, up to the age of 25 years? Would you like to gain new skills to develop your career, and a qualification valued by employers?

This course will build on your experience and prior learning. It offers additional expertise for your practice and the award of a BA (Hons) degree.

You’ll study areas such as removing barriers to participation, enabling inclusion within settings and in the community, effective transition between places, people and phases of education, and research and theories of learning. You’ll have the opportunity to engage in collaborative working, sharing experiences with peers.

Example modules – Enabling Environments – Critical Issues in the Context of Inclusive Education – Dissertation in an aspect of professional practice

This course provides postgraduate and professional development opportunities. These include the Postgraduate Certificate in Education (PGCE), leading to Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)

FdA (or equivalent) in Special Educational Needs and Inclusive Practice and experience in a relevant setting. Employment in an appropriate setting (paid or voluntary) for at least 16 hours per week for duration of the course. Shortlisted applicants may be invited for an interview.
