Why do people think, feel, and act the way they do? Psychology helps you understand it - and turn that insight into change.

On this BSc Psychology degree, you'll explore human behaviour through a balance of scientific theory, research, and real-world application. From day one, you'll begin building the skills to investigate behaviour, analyse evidence, and think through the lens of a psychologist.

You'll study core areas such as cognitive, biological, developmental, and social psychology; alongside contemporary modules like mental health, cyberpsychology, addiction, and body image, connecting theory to today's biggest challenges.

At Leeds Beckett, you won't just learn about psychology - you'll do it. Through practical research, lab work, and applied projects, you'll design studies, analyse data, and explore how psychology can improve lives and communities.

As part of this course, you'll:

  • Explore essential psychology theory spanning mind, brain, and behaviour
  • Design and conduct research using professional methods, facilities, and tools
  • Become skilled in analysing data using statistical techniques
  • Apply psychology to pressing societal challenges like mental health and crime
  • Build exceptional critical thinking, communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills

By graduation, you'll have the knowledge, research expertise, and mindset to pursue a range of careers related to psychology, including taking your next steps towards qualifying as a psychologist.
