The BSc (Hons) in Maritime Law & Business aims to provide students with a solid background in understanding the main rules and operations of the Shipping industry and it is the only course of its kind in Greece, combining Maritime Business Management with advanced knowledge of maritime and shipping law.

International shipping includes an immense range of activities and services, while important services of a shipping nature are offered by companies such as insurance companies, law firms specialising in shipping, brokerage companies, etc.

It is worth noting Piraeus is the headquarters of 45 law firms (10 of which are British), 8 of the largest insurance companies in the world and 23 P&I Clubs (most of which are British), as well as approximately 200 brokerage companies. During the first two years of study students acquire all the basic maritime knowledge, while in the third year they specialise in Maritime Law and the Judicial Settlement of Maritime Disputes. The programme’s main attributes are its completeness as well as its unique incorporation of contemporary issues in shipping. Finally, the programme offers the possibility to transfer to another course at the end of the first year.
