The Applied Clinical Research (ACR) Graduate certificate in Temple’s Christopher M. Barnett College of Public Health is a 12-credit program designed to equip graduates to meet the growing demand for health outcomes and translational researchers who have an in-depth understanding of research methods and study design with excellent data analytical skills to improve such outcomes and hence population health.

Healthcare professionals are becoming increasingly interested in health outcomes and applied clinical research and this certificate curriculum will train graduates in epidemiology and biostatistical methods as core courses. In addition, students customize their training by focusing further in a specialty area, such as biostatistics, epidemiology, health informatics or health policy.

Successful completion of the ACR certificate program will enable you to

  • conceptualize health problems;
  • synthesize information from existing studies;
  • use state-of-the-art biostatistical and data-analytical tools and techniques;
  • manage, and analyze health and health-related data to produce value-adding analytic insights; and
  • effectively combine and communicate these insights to inform evidence-based health decision-making.
