The course is divided into two streams. The common objective of both is to refine the linguistic and cultural skills of the two chosen language areas, while providing a mature awareness of the social, economic and legal implications of the issues related to linguistic and cultural mediation, and to the migration processes that have always modified the cultural fabric, local or national, of human societies.
These common educational objectives are complemented by others specific to each address.
The first has a literary-didactic orientation and intends to provide advanced knowledge in the areas of linguistic and textual analysis, textual traditions, comparatistics and translation practices, and foreign language acquisition processes, as well as a mature awareness of contemporary social and cultural processes related to the literature of migration and diaspora, and more generally to so-called post-colonial literature.
The second major has an orientation toward the professions and provides a solid awareness of the complex processes of transformation in the cultural, social, economic-legal and health spheres related to migration, related social and welfare policies, as well as a deep understanding of the communicative dynamics related to intercultural and interlingual mediation in modern multiethnic and multilingual societies and in the world of international cooperation.
