Creative and challenging, this course addresses human intervention strategies when tackling issues such as flood defence, drinking water quality and contamination control. You'll advance your understanding by investigating modern strategies aimed at the prevention, management and control of contaminated land and freshwater environments. Through the use of case studies, our research-informed teaching and practitioner training covers environmental legislation and regulation, identification, remediation, and human health exposure assessment of environmental contaminants. Placement experience, together with field and laboratory skills, will give you the professional experience needed to secure roles within government, industry, consultancy, academia and other statutory bodies within the UK and overseas. Guest lectures with industry experts and academics will also give you a valuable insight into the latest developments.
