The undergraduate program in Art invites you to experiment, imagine, and transform the world through creation. With a flexible model, specialized workshops, and an influential community, you will develop unique projects that engage with contemporary culture and expand your creative possibilities.

At the Art Department of the University of the Andes, we know that art is a choice. A will. A destiny. Those who come here do so with the certainty that there is no other path. Studying art is a way of inhabiting, questioning, and transforming. It is an exercise in self-knowledge driven by an insatiable hunger for imagination. Here we explore how images are constructed—the visual, the material, the social—how they circulate, and how we propose new worlds.

In the Art Department, we offer a flexible education based on self-directed learning, adapted to the individual interests of students and projected towards their future, with learning paths tailored to their life plans.

Uncertainty is our starting point: to doubt, to think, to act. Because nothing happens without action, and everything is possible when time, intuition, and effort are combined. Our program goes beyond the solitary artist: it understands art as a social construct, with a flexible curriculum guided by professors and staff on a campus and in a faculty equipped for imagination.

We not only train artists, but people who, from diverse roles, contribute to cultural production in dialogue with the imagination of the possible.
