The Master's Program in Classical Studies invites you to explore tradition as a living legacy that engages with the present. We train specialists capable of interpreting texts, images, and ideas from a critical and interdisciplinary perspective. Here, the classical is understood as a dynamic horizon that enriches contemporary culture and opens new avenues of thought and creation.

The Master's Program in Classical Studies at the University of the Andes is a unique program in Colombia for the reflection, analysis, and reinterpretation of the Greco-Roman and medieval legacy. It is offered as an advanced program that promotes the strengthening of research, projects, and specialized work in this field, while incorporating contemporary disciplines and methodologies that complement the established traditions of the area.

This program offers students the opportunity to actively participate in an academic community committed to critical reflection, knowledge production, and innovation in the field. In this way, it not only contributes to their professional and academic growth but also fosters a deeper and broader understanding of classical studies.

Furthermore, the Master's program promotes the recovery of ways of interpreting and understanding reality that, although they may seem distant or unusual, allow for the construction of more open, flexible, and enriching conceptual frameworks. This perspective fosters the development of a reflective approach, capable of engaging with diverse intellectual traditions and responding to the challenges of contemporary thought.

The Master's program is based on an active and participatory learning methodology, incorporating seminars, analysis of primary sources, archival research, and academic writing exercises. This approach strengthens critical research, the production of interdisciplinary knowledge, and rigorous scholarly creation.
