The Master's Program in Applied Economics (MEcA) aims to train students interested in leading collaborative decision-making processes to contribute to solving practical economic problems in various fields within public and private institutions. These students will develop high-impact economic and social projects requiring an interdisciplinary perspective, utilizing theoretical, empirical, and computational economic tools. They will be able to focus their economic analysis on environmental, regulatory, and public policy issues.

The Master's in Applied Economics (MEcA) curriculum consists of 35 academic credits plus an 8-credit leveling program for those who need it. The MEcA also offers three areas of specialization that students can choose from: 1) Environmental and Natural Resource Economics, 2) Regulation and Evaluation of Public Policies, and 3) Big Data and Machine Learning Applied to Economics.

The program is aimed at university professionals, economists or not, interested in applying economic concepts to practical needs of the labor market, in the public or private sector.
