Upon completion of the Doctorate in Development Studies, graduates will be prepared to independently conduct and guide research that allows for in-depth analysis of the challenges and processes of social and sustainable development in Latin America, applying an interdisciplinary approach.

  1. The program offers various thesis possibilities in the research lines of the Interdisciplinary Studies Group on Development of CIDER:
    Gender, equity and development: diversity, intersectionality, care, work, old age, empowerment, social change and emotions.

    Planning, governance and territorial development: local and regional development, land use planning, urban and regional governance, globalization and territory.

    Institutions, peace and development: evaluation of public policies and programs, ethics and accountability, peacebuilding and transitional justice.

    Sustainability, environment and development: political ecology, environmental justice, biodiversity, new ruralities, water and territorial sustainability.

  2. This doctorate is supported by the Research Group in Interdisciplinary Studies on Development, with more than 25 years of experience and classified in category A1 of Colciencias, which ensures academic quality and scientific rigor in all its lines of research.
