The Undergraduate Physics Program (Physics Degree) began in 1978. Its objective is to educate students in the understanding, application, and management of fundamental physics concepts, principles, and theories, developing in them a way of thinking consistent with the scientific method, with a critical and analytical mindset to address and formulate problems and solutions not only of theoretical physics interest but also of interest in other fields related to the natural sciences. Most graduates have continued with postgraduate studies in the Department or at renowned foreign universities. Many students have also complemented this education with degrees in areas such as Mathematics, Engineering, and Economics, among others, taking advantage of the dual degree opportunities offered by the University of Los Andes.
