Public Health majors are required to complete the Public Health core and one of two options in order to earn the BS in Public Health degree: Health Management and Policy Health Promotion and Health Behavior Health Management and Policy The Health Management and Policy option provides training and skills in the management of public health and health care programs and agencies, and in the analysis of public health policies. The program is appropriate for those who want to manage health programs in a wide range of institutions, both public and private, and is particularly well-suited for students interested in the business aspects associated with the delivery and financing of health services. Students can also focus on administration in assisted living facilities, continuing care retirement centers, and nursing homes, and receive a Certificate in Gerontology. Health Promotion and Health Behavior This option prepares students for many career opportunities in the areas of public health promotion, health behavior, and disease prevention. Students learn a variety of skills and strategies that will provide them with the necessary proficiencies to improve population health in diverse settings. The program focuses on the social and behavioral determinants of health and disease across the lifespan, with a particular emphasis on health disparities. Graduates are qualified to assist with the planning, implementing, and evaluation of programs that address health disparities and that are intended to improve the health of diverse populations.

OSU provides direct admission to the University for International first-year. Applicants must meet minimum English language proficiency and GPA requirements. Admission decisions are made on a rolling basis with four entry dates. Other English language requirement: SAT: verbal/critical reading score of 500+ or evidence-based reading score of 560+.
