The programme is intended for individuals who wish to pursue careers in media, journalism, public relations, political communication, and corporate communication. The Media and Society Culture programme is grounded in contemporary media theories and current communication trends. Students will explore how the digital age has transformed communication processes and the functioning of media and public relations organizations.
During the undergraduate programme, students acquire broad knowledge in communication sciences, cultural studies, political science, sociology, and the humanities. The programme includes practical training through media workshops, exercises, and individual engagement. Activities include writing for newspapers, producing radio programmes, recording and editing television reports, and planning PR campaigns. A distinctive feature of the programme is its strong emphasis on experiential learning through professional workshops, a media laboratory, and mandatory professional internships. Students actively participate in the creation of media content and gain experience in journalism, public relations, marketing, media production, and digital communication.
The Faculty also operates its own university media platforms (UNIDU Radio, UNIDU Television, and the magazine Punkt), whose programmes and content are created and edited by students. Upon completion of the undergraduate programme, students may continue their education in graduate programmes offered by the Faculty of Media and Public Relations (MA in Media and MA in Public Relations).
The Undergraduate Programme in Media and Society Culture lasts three years, comprising six semesters (180 ECTS credits).
