The Marine Engineering programme provides students with a comprehensive education through a combination of theoretical instruction and extensive practical training. The Faculty of Maritime Studies is equipped with modern teaching facilities and equipment, including a marine engineering simulator, a high-voltage switchboard simulator, a navigation simulator, a lifeboat mounted on davits for rescue drills, a firefighting training ground, an engineering laboratory, computer laboratories, and the training and research vessel Naše more (“Our Sea”).
In addition to permanent academic staff, instructions are delivered by visiting lecturers with substantial professional experience in maritime affairs and marine engineering. The Faculty is also regularly visited by representatives of leading international shipping companies seeking highly qualified and well-educated young professionals.
The undergraduate university programme in Marine Engineering lasts three years, comprising six semesters (180 ECTS credits). After completing the undergraduate programme, students may continue their education in the graduate (Master’s) programme in Maritime Studies. Upon completion of the graduate programme, they may pursue postgraduate university studies in Maritime Studies.
