The Nautical Studies programme is designed for all those passionate about the sea and distant ports. It is aligned with the principles of the Bologna Declaration as well as with the Maritime Code. Instruction is delivered in accordance with the highest international standards and is subject to verification by the International Maritime Organization (IMO). The qualifications obtained upon completion of the programme are internationally recognized and valid worldwide.
The theoretical component of the curriculum is delivered in specialized classrooms and laboratories. High-quality practical training is ensured through the use of advanced facilities and equipment, including navigation simulators, a lifeboat, a firefighting training ground, a ship radio station, and the training and research vessel Naše more (“Our Sea”).
The Nautical Studies programme prepares students for the professional and responsible handling of a vessel, its crew, passengers, and cargo. In addition, it provides the necessary competencies for managerial and administrative positions in various maritime-related services ashore. After completing the undergraduate programme, students may continue their education in the graduate (Master’s) programme in Maritime Studies. Upon completion of the graduate programme, they may pursue postgraduate university studies in Maritime Studies.
