The curriculum of the study programme in Tourism has been designed with the aim to equip students for a high-quality communication with the tourist market so that tourist products/services can find their way to customers and so that they can be successfully valued in terms of positioning a business enterprise or a destination better than its competition.
The programme is oriented towards providing education to future managers in the tourist, catering and hotel industry or in the public sector. Through various courses on offer, students can master the fundamentals of economics closely connected with the knowledge about the protection and improvement of the environment and the principles of balanced social development. Emphasis is put on the development of knowledge, skills and competences needed for professionals who need to know, promote and improve tourism as the precondition to preserve the very resources on which it rests and without which it would be impossible to develop the set targets in the new globalised conditions. Compared to the classical approach, the ‘new tourism’, must be founded on different principles, which need to be included in the syllabus of a modern marketing and management that follow global trends and meet the needs of the modern tourist market demand.
