There is a clearly expressed need in healthcare for educated nurses and nursing technicians who, in addition to fundamental knowledge and skills in general nursing, possess specialized expertise in advanced areas of nursing, including Clinical Nursing. Since nurses and nursing technicians are primary providers within the healthcare system, their higher education and ongoing professional development are essential to advancing the nursing profession. This ensures that, by mastering modern technology and integrating the latest scientific achievements, patients receive the highest level of clinical care.
The programme aims to expand students’ theoretical knowledge in Clinical Nursing and to develop practical skills necessary for daily patient care. It provides students with the knowledge and competencies required for the organization and management of units within both public healthcare institutions and private healthcare facilities. The programme focuses on acquiring specialized knowledge in clinical nursing and developing advanced skills for working in hospital wards, emergency care, intensive and semi-intensive care units, and in the treatment of oncology patients. Students are trained to provide care for terminally ill patients, including palliative care and family support, as well as care for individuals with disabilities and children with developmental challenges. The programme also emphasizes planning and defining organizational, professional, personnel, and financial requirements, developing leadership skills for managing groups and work teams, fostering effective interpersonal interactions, and providing training in supervision and control across various domains of nursing practice.
Graduates are qualified to apply their acquired knowledge and skills in professional nursing practice and to supervise and manage work across various nursing domains. They are trained in specialized healthcare and clinical areas, capable of providing highly specialized patient care and comprehensive clinical nursing services tailored to community needs. Graduates also have opportunities to engage in nursing research and participate in the education and training of nurses.
The professional graduate programme in Clinical Nursing lasts two years, or four semesters (120 ECTS credits).
