QUT’s Master of Robotics and AI is a 1.5 year, full-time postgraduate degree. The degree is designed for students with a background in engineering and a recognised undergraduate degree that specialises within one of the following four engineering fields: computer and software systems, electrical, electrical and aerospace and/ or mechatronics to provide a foundation for continued learning.

In your final semester, you will participate in a research capstone project which will provide strong links with industry partners through research and teaching collaborations.

Throughout your degree, you'll learn from academic staff who are real-world experts within their field in Australia and across the world such as Professor Michael Milford, Australia’s leading researcher in robotics (The Australian Research Magazine 2025). Professor Milford’s internationally acclaimed teaching and research sits at the boundary of robotics, neuroscience and computer vision. He currently holds the positions of Director of the QUT Centre for Robotics, Australian Research Council Laureate Fellow, Microsoft Research Faculty Fellow, and Fellow of the Australian Academy of Technology and Engineering.
