Master of Nurse Practitioner

This course has an increased focus on primary health care, Indigenous health, leadership skills, health assessment and research. You'll develop high-level innovative communication and leadership skills, and advanced clinical knowledge in specialised fields of practice. Graduate ready to: conduct advanced comprehensive health assessments and treat consumers in a specialty field, order diagnostic investigations, prescribe medications and other interventions, directly refer patients to other healthcare professionals, and think critically and creatively in complex and unfamiliar environments, in both autonomous and multi-disciplinary modes of practice. This course provides an opportunity for registered nurses to acquire an advanced level of knowledge and skill in preparation for endorsement as a nurse practitioner. The course demonstrates a clear integration with national nurse practitioner standards of practice that are grounded in research and leadership.
