In your first year, you’ll complete your common IT units, including an introduction to computer systems, learning design and building principles, and developing databases. You’ll also learn programming principles.

The Enterprise Computing major consists of 72 credit points of compulsory units. In particular, you will learn how to:

  • Undertake business analysis and process modelling to understand and communicate how systems can be automated to overcome problems and inefficiencies, using widely used methods and languages in Lean Six Sigma and BPMN (Business Process Modelling Notation)
  • Develop and test software using object-oriented programming concepts and principles. The programming experience will be conducted using enterprise systems platforms and AI tools to enrich and accelerate the traditional software development approach.
  • Perform data analytics and machine learning tasks to convert raw data managed by systems into actionable insights and predictions.
  • Connect both enterprise and Internet-of-Things (IoT) systems so that business processes can be extended from inside company walls to run on the 'edge' in cyber-physical settings to respond to sensor alerts and events.
  • Develop enterprise architectures using TOGAF (The Open Framework Architecture) so that the landscape of systems supporting businesses can be visualised, planned and managed.
  • Your final year is your opportunity to showcase your skills with a major project. Your project will be for a real-world client and will be unveiled at the IT and Games Showcase, held at the end of the year.
