Our MSc by Research programme offers unique and top-level training opportunities, enabling you to pursue doctoral studies or other research-related careers in the future. 


During your studies, you will undertake 180 credits of taught courses designed to train you in the theory and methods necessary to conduct high-quality research. The emphasis will be on helping you understand how to conduct meaningful and impactful research, which you will demonstrate in your dissertation at the end of your studies. 


Throughout the programme, you will be working closely with your supervisory team, which will advise you on your research and guide you in your career planning. Your supervisory team will recommend the courses you should take and any events to attend. 


In addition, you will be attending a large number of research seminars and workshops across different subject areas, delivered by renown scholars from around the world, providing ample opportunity for advanced learning and networking.


As a member of world-leading university, you will be a part of broader research-intensive environment. You will have opportunity to network with academic members of staff and research students from other Schools, which should help you develop a broader understanding of meaningful and impactful research, and, if desired, provide opportunities for interdisciplinary work.
