The Geomatics and Geodesy Engineering master’s programme focuses on the precise determination, measurement, modelling, and management of spatial information related to the Earth’s surface and natural or man-made objects. The programme integrates scientific and applied knowledge in geodesy, cartography, geographic information systems (GIS), remote sensing, satellite positioning technologies, and digital mapping.

The curriculum emphasizes the use of modern software tools and high-precision measurement equipment for collecting, processing, analysing, and visualizing spatial data. Students develop practical skills in spatial data management and digital geospatial analysis.

Key technologies studied in the programme include Global Navigation Satellite Systems (GNSS), LiDAR scanning, unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs), 3D modelling, and BIM-based spatial solutions. These technologies are applied to the development of topographic plans, digital terrain models, and spatial data for engineering structures and infrastructure projects.

The programme also supports the application of geospatial data in fields such as urban planning, infrastructure design, land cadastre, property registration, and transportation and communication network development.

Special attention is given to accuracy assessment of geodetic measurements, statistical analysis of survey results, compliance with regulatory standards, and quality control mechanisms. The programme also considers environmental risks, land-use patterns, and social impacts in the management and integration of spatial information.
