Municipalities and regions are key to sustainable development, which is why, since the seventies of the last century, a local development agenda has been established with the perspective of serving municipalities inserted in the different territorial configurations under a multidimensional approach. The municipality, as a complex and diverse object of study, constitutes a fertile field for applied research that the Master's Degree in Economics and Municipal Management tries to address from the areas of local or regional development; institutional management and policies; institutional capacities, as well as the formulation and evaluation of public policies that are implemented in local spaces.
As part of the process of continuous improvement, the Basic Academic Nucleus of the MEGM updated the Study Plan, revising the Lines of Generation and Application of Knowledge (LGAC), the curricular structure and including new learning units, in addition to the fact that the professional orientation of the program encourages to strengthen the training of skills and abilities.
