Objective

To identify, analyse, evaluate, plan and propose solutions to biological problems related to knowledge, conservation, growth, application and administration of natural resources.
To do research that will contribute to solve the needs of the use of natural resources.
To contribute to the formation of human resources in the natural resources area.

Graduate´s profile

Upon finishing the degree, the graduate will be able to know and describe the characteristics of the wild flora and fauna and their ecosystems and elaborate and keep scientific collections and corresponding inventories.
Likewise, the graduate will be able to understand and interpret the processes and patterns of the natural history of the species.
The graduate will participate in ecological recovery programs as well as in environmental protection projects and environmental regulation, developing planning instruments such as environmental impact studies and environmental land use, elaborate technical criteria on which Mexican official regulations related to the environmental protection and ecological balance will be based upon.

The graduate will do conservation, use and management research of the biodiversity based on the organisms, plagues and their vectors, applying biotechnological tools in order to solve food and health problems.
