The impacts of being deaf or hard of hearing go well beyond hearing alone: affected individuals may experience a range of social, psychological, cognitive and health issues that can impact their development as children, and, in later life, affect their professional and personal lives, potentially leading to isolation and withdrawal.  In the Education: Deaf Hard of Hearing specialisation, you’ll become qualified as a teacher of the Deaf. You’ll learn how to teach students to communicate effectively, helping them to achieve life and career goals, and enhance their personal relationships. You’ll also be eligible for full membership of the National Australian Association of Teachers of the Deaf (NAATD). In addition, you can apply to join the Better Start Early Intervention Service Provider Panel as a sole provider and become a service provider under the National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS).
