Health science is an applied field where scientific principles and evidence-based practice are used to improve health organizations and patients’ lives. It is broadly concerned with health outcomes: how to evaluate and improve processes within organizations as well as individuals’ health-related behavior.
Graduates of the health science master’s program launch or enhance careers in health care or community health within for-profit, nonprofit, and government organizations.

Admission Requirements
- No GRE scores are required.
- A baccalaureate degree from a regionally accredited college or university in a health-related or social sciences field or substantial upper-division course work in those fields, or practical experience in those same fields (as determined by the program director).
- Successful completion of a previous statistics course (or equivalent, as determined by the program director) at the time of application.
- A minimum undergraduate GPA of 3.00 (on a 4-point scale) is required for full admission to the program, and 2.75 is required for conditional admission. GPA calculations may be based upon the cumulative units or the last 60 units of the degree. See graduate admission policies for more information.
