Environmental Civil Engineering fulfills the mission, vision, and values of the Department of Civil Engineering since it is a career derived from a degree in Civil Engineering with a specialization towards care, conservation, and sustainability. Civil Engineering develops managerial skills to manage superstructure, infrastructure, and hydraulic works projects, as well as to develop Territorial Organization Plans (POT). It trains civil engineers to design solutions to meet the needs of the scientific, technological, social, and economic development of Guatemala and the Central American region. It prepares civil engineers capable of analyzing, designing, and checking superstructure, infrastructure, and hydraulic works projects, as well as their facilities. Promotes and implements technological innovation in solutions to advanced problems for the development of structural engineering, hydraulic engineering, and surveying. It encourages the use of computer tools to simulate and represent real systems and promotes quality control in materials and civil engineering services.
