With the rapid advancement of science and technology in the field of agriculture in the current era of globalization, every university is required to provide quality and professional human resources. Postgraduate Program in Agriculture USU Doctoral Program (S3) Agricultural Science as one of the Postgraduate Study Programs at the University of North Sumatra aims to produce qualified and professional graduates (doctoral) in the field of Agricultural sciences, especially agronomy, plant breeding, soil science and pests and diseases. The implementation of the Doctoral Program in Agricultural Sciences has been ongoing since 2003 with a letter of establishment decree by the Director General of Higher Education number 3209/D/D/T/2002. And accredited with a B grade valid from August 24, 2013 to August 24, 2018. The Doctoral Program (S3) of Agricultural Sciences, Faculty of Agriculture, USU is a center for further education and research in the field of Agricultural science, particularly in the fields of agronomy, soil science, plant breeding, pests and plant diseases, which is leading in Indonesia and has an international reputation, especially in Southeast Asia in the next 10 (ten) years.
