Human Resources (HR) with doctoral qualifications in the field of Natural Resources and Environmental Management (PSL) are urgently needed to carry out environmentally sustainable development in the context of autonomy and the era of globalization which is full of competition. In anticipating the need for reliable human resources, the University of North Sumatra opened a Doctoral Program (S3) in Natural Resources and Environmental Management (PSL) which concentrates on agro-industry environmental management and social management of the Sumatran people, starting in the 2004/2005 academic year in accordance with the Decree of the Director General of the Ministry of National Education No, 3184/D/T/2004 dated August 19, 2004.
