In today’s increasingly interdependent world, the ability to speak a second language is an extremely valuable skill, whether you want a career in business, government, education, health care, journalism, or other field. In this program, you will learn to fluently speak, read and write the French language, with courses in conversation, grammar, reading comprehension, and culture and literature. You also have study abroad opportunities to spend a semester or longer immersed in the French culture and language. Most students in this program are double majors, combining a French degree with another interest, such as international studies or history. Applicants must have a 2.5 on a 4.0 GPA scale is required from secondary school. Students must meet criteria for admission to university level study in home country. Other English Language Requirements accepted: TOEFL (Test of English as a Foreign Language) minimum score of 525 on the paper test; Completion of the University of Idaho American Language and Culture Program (ALCP); SAT critical reading minimum score of 500; Completion from Lewis-Clark State College Institute of Intensive English Bridge Program; Pearson (PTE) Academic score of 48; ELS Language Centers, pass of Level 112; Cambridge CAE (Certificate of Advanced English), pass; Cambridge CPE (Certificate of Proficiency in English), pass; Cambridge International "O" Levels, pass; MELAB (Michigan English Language Assessment Battery) score of 74.
