Living with fire. Fire is – and always will be – a natural part of our forest and rangeland ecosystems. And as residential development continues to encroach on wild lands, fire professionals will be needed more than ever. In this program – the first bachelor’s degree program of its kind in the nation – you will examine why and how wildfires burn in forests, woodlands, shrub lands and grasslands. And you will explore the effects of wildfires on the plants and animals that live in these natural environments. By understanding the science behind wildfires, you will become prepared to address natural resource management problems and other important environmental, political, economic and social issues related to wild land fires – such as air quality, water quality and the loss of life and property. Admission Requirements

Applicants must have a 2.5 on a 4.0 GPA scale is required from secondary school. Students must meet criteria for admission to university level study in home country. Other English Language Requirements accepted: TOEFL (Test of English as a Foreign Language) minimum score of 525 on the paper test; Completion of the University of Idaho American Language and Culture Program (ALCP); SAT critical reading minimum score of 500; Completion from Lewis-Clark State College Institute of Intensive English Bridge Program; Pearson (PTE) Academic score of 48; ELS Language Centers, pass of Level 112; Cambridge CAE (Certificate of Advanced English), pass; Cambridge CPE (Certificate of Proficiency in English), pass; Cambridge International "O" Levels, pass; MELAB (Michigan English Language Assessment Battery) score of 74.
