Be a part of the solution Growing demand for food and fiber crops requires the need to maximize long-term sustainability of our agricultural systems and reimaging how we grow market and transport food. This program is designed to provide a science-based understanding of the many facets of food, from sustainable production, food chemistry and safety, to policy and human nutrition. You will explore ways to produce food while conserving natural resources such as soil and water. Much of your education will take place outside the classroom, including the Soil Steward’s campus farm where you will produce, market, sell and distribute food. You also have the opportunity to gain knowledge of your role as food systems professionals through internships. This program could be a good fit if you: Are strong in science Have an interest in agriculture Want to conserve natural resources Are involved in 4-H, FFA or other agriculture-related activities Enjoy working in the outdoors With this degree, you could become a/an: Agronomist Soil and land conservationist Educator Agricultural consultant Food producer

Admission Requirements

Applicants must have a 2.5 on a 4.0 GPA scale is required from secondary school. Students must meet criteria for admission to university level study in home country. Other English Language Requirements accepted: TOEFL (Test of English as a Foreign Language) minimum score of 525 on the paper test; Completion of the University of Idaho American Language and Culture Program (ALCP); SAT critical reading minimum score of 500; Completion from Lewis-Clark State College Institute of Intensive English Bridge Program; Pearson (PTE) Academic score of 48; ELS Language Centers, pass of Level 112; Cambridge CAE (Certificate of Advanced English), pass; Cambridge CPE (Certificate of Proficiency in English), pass; Cambridge International "O" Levels, pass; MELAB (Michigan English Language Assessment Battery) score of 74.
