The BSc (Hons) Applied Bioscience with Forensic Investigation will equip students with the forensic analytical skills to assess crime scenes, analyse biological and chemical evidence and develop complex problem solving skills. This programme includes a 12-week placement during Year 3 where students can apply the skills, techniques and knowledge gained so far. There are various areas where good scientific skills are required including clinical laboratories; analytical laboratories; research laboratories; contract research organisations; distillers; and support companies. This degree has been accredited by the Royal Society of Biology (RSB) following an independent and rigorous assessment. This course meets, in part, the academic and experience requirement for the Membership of the RSB and Chartered Biologist (CBiol) status. The Royal Society of Biology is the leading professional body for the biological sciences in the United Kingdom. The Society represents over 18,000 biologists from all areas of the life sciences, as well as over 100 organisations which make up the diverse landscape of biology in the UK and overseas.
