The BSc Computing Science offers a wide range of computing in a variety of disciplines. It covers topics such as software development processes and technologies; foundations of programming; software modelling tools; object-oriented analysis and design; databases and web service development; and applications. This course (Paisley & Lanarkshire deliveries only) is accredited by the British Computer Society (BCS) as fully meeting the academic requirements for registration as a Chartered IT Professional and, on behalf of the Engineering Council, as fully meeting the academic requirements for registration as an Incorporated Engineer and partially meeting the academic requirements for registration as a Chartered Engineer. Part-time students must complete their studies within 6 years to gain BCS recognition.
