The UWS BSc Biomedical Science has been developed in partnership with the National Health Service and the Health & Care Professions Council, providing a route for student to become a professional Biomedical Scientist, working in NHS-accredited hospital laboratories. With a career in Biomedical Science – taking in research, diagnosis, treatment and disease prevention – one will work at the forefront of modern healthcare. Hospital laboratories play a vital role in the diagnosis and treatment of patients, with biomedical scientists carrying out tests on clinical specimens, with timely and effective analysis of results informing the effective diagnosis, monitoring, treatment and prevention of disease by medical staff.
