The completion of BSc Physics with Education degree leads to qualification to teach physics in secondary schools. It also covers all of the core topics of a degree in physics alongside education modules, and will include school placements that will give students on the course the necessary first-hand experience of teaching in the classroom. Graduates receive the formal teaching qualification necessary for provisional registration with the General Teaching Council for Scotland (GTCS). New Scottish/UK/EU graduates of this course are guaranteed a one-year induction post that enables completion of probation and achievement of the standard required for full registration with the GTCS.
