The Department of Horticulture was established in 1999 at Hajee Mohammad Danesh Science and Technology University (HSTU), Dinajpur, Bangladesh. The department plays a major role of a four-year Bachelor of Science in Agriculture (B.Sc.Ag) degree program, as well as a two-year Master of Science (MS) degree program in Horticulture. The primary objective of the department is to produce skilled professionals in horticulture who can contribute to the sustainable development of the agriculture sector of Bangladesh. The department's curriculum covers various areas of horticulture, including crop production, plant breeding, plant physiology, postharvest management, biotechnology, and landscaping. The department has a team of highly qualified faculty members who are actively engaged in teaching, research, and extension activities. The department has laboratories and field facilities for conducting research and practical classes. The graduates of the department are working in various fields related to horticulture, including crop production, research and development, agribusiness, and education, in home and abroad. The department consists of 9 faculty members, 4 of them are Professors,     1 Associate Professor, 1 Assistant Professor and 3 Lecturers.
