Scholarships
Selecting the right scholarship can be a daunting process. With countless options available, students often find themselves overwhelmed and confused. The decision can be especially stressful for those facing financial constraints or pursuing specific academic or career goals.
To help students navigate this challenging process, we recommend the following articles:
Why we offer the study of fundamentals of Agronomy?
We offer the study of fundamentals of Agronomy for obtaining the knowledgeon basic principles of Agronomy and crop geography, on growth and development and croppingof different field crops and their yield and yield components, getting idea about crop planting and management systems, achieving basic knowledge on water and nutrient management techniques.
Why do we need to adopt smart agriculture in Bangladesh?
Increasing control over production leads to better cost management and waste reduction. The ability to trace anomalies in crop growth and livestock health, for instance, helps eliminate risk of losing yield. Additionally automation boosts efficiency. We work to spread sustainable and productive agricultural methods in rural communities. We believe that empowering rural people offers long-lasting and life-changing outcomes. We improve smallholder coffee farmers livelihoods based on sustainable practices.
How we improve the seed quality by dispensing modern science and technology?
We improve the seed quality by different testing methods of seeds (Purity Test, Viability Test. Vigour Test, Germination Test etc) for producing genetically pure seeds. We also use different type of seed policy, seed rules and its implication for ensuring quality seed and production and maintenance of genetically pure healthy seeds.
What is the perspectives on the future of weed science?
The discipline of weed science is at a critical juncture. Decades of efficient chemical weed control have led to a rise in the number of herbicide-resistant weed populations, with few new herbicides with unique modes of action to counter this trend and often no economical alternatives to herbicides in large-acreage crops. Here, we consider these challenges along with emerging trends in technology and innovation that offer hope of providing sustainable weed management into the future. The emergence of natural product leads in discovery of new herbicides and biopesticides suggests that new modes of action can be discovered, while genetic engineering provides additional options for manipulating herbicide selectivity and creating entirely novel approaches to weed management. Advances in understanding plant pathogen interactions will contribute to developing new biological control agents, and insights into plant–plant interactions suggest that crops can be improved by manipulating their response to competition. What is the concept of organic farming and sustainable agriculture?
Organic farming is an ecological production management system that promotes and enhances biodiversity, biological cycles and soil biological activity. Sustainable agriculture is the act of farming using principles of ecology, the study of relationships between organisms and their environment. It is focused on the inputs used in production (e.g. non-GMO, no synthetic fertiliser/pesticides/herbicides), whereas sustainable farming is focused on the physical treatment of the land (e.g. no till, cover crops, buffer zones). It ensures the uses of organic agri-inputs. Sustainable agriculture focuses on increasing the efficacy of agri-inputs by monitoring crop health, the types of fertiliser used and soil nutrient information in near-real-time using applications like smart farm.
