The Department of Medicine, Surgery and Obstetrics (MSO) is the largest department of the Hajee Mohammad Danesh Science & Technology University (HSTU), Dinajpur. The Department offers a total of 48 credits in the undergraduate DVM degree programme. It also offers Masters of Science (MS) degrees in Medicine, Surgery and Theriogenology as well as Doctor of Philosophy (PhD).
The vision of our Department is to provide innovative and comprehensive educational opportunities to the graduate and undergraduate students. We have an integrated academic and research team who translate their intellect and experience in an evidenced based approach. The Department provides excellent care and motivation to the next generation at the graduate and undergraduate levels, exposing them to the highest quality education. Our research team continuously expands the knowledge on Veterinary Medicine, Surgery and Theriogenology. The Department has continuous efforts for adopting new technologies in the area of veterinary epidemiology, Clinical Diagnosis and treatments, prevention and vaccination, Internal Medicine, Large animal Health, Small animal health (pets), Poultry as well as Aquatic and Wild Animals health, soft and hard tissue surgery, anesthesiology, diagnosing imaging, reconstructive surgery, Reproductive-Biotechnology ( semen cryopreservation, embryo production and embryo transfer ) and Pathology. We provide training to the field veterinary practitioners, AI technician and farmers. The Department serves the community by providing veterinary health care services at the Veterinary Teaching Hospital.Programme overview
