The Department of Aquaculture is one of the four departments of the Faculty of Fisheries at Hajee Mohammad Danesh Science and Technology University, Dinajpur, Bangladesh. This department was established in 2005 along with the Faculty of Fisheries. It offers 55 and 40 credit hours at undergraduate (B.Sc. in Fisheries (Honors)) and postgraduate (M.S. in Aquaculture) levels, respectively. The department is endowed with experienced teachers, working diligently to maintain the high academic standards of the University. All faculties are always ready and ever willing to assist students in their endeavours to ensure their success. Besides, teaching activities, the faculty members are also engaged with research and co-curricular activities. The aim of the department is to produce competent fisheries graduates, and to help developing a centre of excellence in the field of aquaculture.

The Department of Aquaculture has some laboratory facilities such as: spectrophotometer, microscope, Kjeldhal apparatus, soxhlet apparatus, muffle furnace, deep fridge, oven, histopathological kits etc. Besides, in conjunction to the Molecular Biology Unit of the central laboratory of HSTU, Dinajpur, the Department of Aquaculture has the provision of using several advanced laboratory facilities like, UHPLC, RT-PCR, gel electrophoresis, automated nucleic acid isolation unit, MiSeq-NGS machine, AAS, ultrapure water purifier, minus 86 degree celsius deep freezer and so on.
